… to my academic website. I am Assistant Professor for Management with a special emphasis on Family Business at the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland.

My research focuses on corporate governance and firm ownership, in particular family businesses. I believe that both firm owners and boards of directors have become more influential on firms’ strategic decision-making in today’s world. My research pursues two overarching goals. These goals are (1) to better understand the strategic role of owners and what makes a good firm owner, and (2) to advance our understanding of boards as guardians of and mediators between stakeholder interests. I aim to be a scholar with impact and my research is often inspired by conversations and exchange with practitioners.
